Use this guide to create your first inventory, add products, and confirm that your team can start working in the same structure from day one.

Before you start

Make sure you know whether you want a stock-taking workflow, a stock management workflow, or both. That choice affects how quantities behave later.

Prepare the basics

Have these ready

  • A clear inventory name for the location or team.
  • At least one product identifier such as SKU or Barcode.
  • A quick decision on whether you will import products or add them manually.

Create your first inventory

  1. Open Mobile Inventory and create a new inventory.
  2. Choose the inventory type that matches your workflow.
  3. Add products manually or move to Import products if you already have a spreadsheet.
  4. Invite the users who need access and confirm their role before they start editing data.

Verify the setup

  • Open the inventory from a second device and confirm the same products are visible.
  • Scan or search for one product and make sure the correct record opens.
  • Test one count or stock entry so you know the workflow behaves as expected.
